Good To Be Back....in Prague

Well Vienna was interesting...
Fun Fact: In Vienna you cannot breath without someone charging you a few Euros. Not only do they charge you to go to the bathroom (which is a very European thing to do) they charge you for everything else you could imagine.
I love Prague even more now. Vienna was just not for me, way too clean, expensive, not so friendly people. The night before we left for Vienna, we sat on this huge set of stairs and listened to a bum-like character play the guitar and harmonica. It was so beautiful! He sounded like Neil Young. Then we walked downtown to this fifty foot metronome that students placed on a hill after Stalin's rule. It's supposed to symbolize change. To get to it you have to walk up about 100 steps and when you get to the top, there are ledges to sit on, overlooking the entire city. And the moment we got to the top, a huge fireworks show started over the whole city. Who would want to go to Vienna and leave Prague after that?? :)

Some nice things about Vienna: there are grassy places to lay everywhere. Lots of great art exhibits: Egon Schiele, Thomas Ruff, Nan Goldin and Robert Mapplethorpe. I also got to see work by Sally Mann, Wolfgang Tillmans, and some others. Also Vienna has really good dessert! And while we were there the Rathausplatz film festival was going on, so at night over the weekend they were playing Opera films. Pretty cool, as well!
