London=Fashion

My computer finally works again!! And I have arrived in Prague!

London was fantastic- a lot of fun to walk around in. Everyone was dressed like models, very fashion forward! I spent a day and a half in London and it was exhausting! But lots of fun. We walked around Hyde Park which is close to where our hotel was located (In Westminster) and I found some great places to shop, my favorite store called Lime Soda. Everything in the store was 5 pounds (really cheap!) and just beautiful! Meanwhile the food in London is definitely not for me. Every time I tried to eat, I pictured Martin Parr's British photo series. I really do understand it more now! French fries for breakfast?? Not my style I'm afraid.

But the best part of London? Buckingham Palace?? Yawn. No! The Tate Modern Art Museum!!! Seeing that I'm surrounded by non-art people, I was in dire need to be intellectually stimulated :) I finally got to see work by Richard Serra!!!! It was very exciting! Anselm Kiefer had work in the museum too- a giant palm tree, as well as Joseph Beuy's Volkswagon. My favorite though had to be a video by Paul McCarthy. It was awesome! It involved a clown mask and was of a certain nature that prevented children from viewing it. However, anything with a clown mask is great to me. I will not miss London's food or their need to drive on the left side of the road. But I will miss the Tube. It was a blast to ride!

But London will never be....Prague!!!! I've been here for a few hours and I love it! It is beautiful! And old men walk down the street in crazy post communism army uniforms and there is absolutely lovely "urban"ish decay everywhere! I cannot wait to take my Holga around to shoot some film! We already went to the food market and I got what I thought was butter but I think it was cat food? Lesson learned. It was a good adventure. I'm slowly working on the Czech phrases- Dobry den was the first phrase I have used which means "good day". A lot of people I have interacted with here don't really speak English at all.
And my dorm? Beautiful!!! I love it! The hallway walls are....you guessed it....bright yellow!!!! I can't wait to take some real photos of the dorm soon, as well. Lace window curtains and yellow walls? It screams me :) As does Prague and its shops. I have a feeling I'm going to be returning to Ohio with tons of nesting dolls and wooden puppets. Those are big sellers here, and for a good reason! They are gorgeous.

Sorry no Prague pictures yet! Pictures below include: Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Catherdral, Hyde Park, and the Tube.
